About Us

The "Cruisin' to the Tree" Cruise Night has been a major fundraising event for the Danvers D.A.R.E. program for some time. With its humble beginnings at Costco in its first few years, who would have imagined how this event has grown to become a tradition?

Organized by Tom Angers in 1989 and held since the early 1990s at the Liberty Tree Mall, the event has helped Danvers maintain its D.A.R.E. program, which has been subjected to state funding cutbacks.

Since it's beginning, the cruise night has always been for the benefit of the D.A.R.E. program, but, since 2002's state funding was cut, the cruise night along with a yearly golf tournament, have been THE major source of Danvers' D.A.R.E. funding.
